Simply submit your query to counseling@houstontenants.org . We will try to answer your question within 24-48 hours of its receipt. Email received from Houston/Harris County residents is given priority. Additionally, for practical reasons, we ask that you try to keep your question to fewer than 150 words. Shorter email questions will be prioritized. We request that anyone asking for counseling provide additional information along with your question. The information is completely confidential and for our records ONLY. We must have all the following information in order to answer your question: Your Full Name Your Address (include City, State and Zip Code, please) We would also like to know whether you are a tenant, landlord, etc. The following information is optional, but very helpful for accurate counseling: Is your lease written or verbal? If written, what type of written lease to you have (i.e. Texas Apartment Association, Texas Board of Realtors, handwritten)? When does your lease expire? Does your landlord currently claim that you owe any kind of money? The counseling you receive should not be considered conclusive or a substitute for legal advice.
